Upload or paste any SVG and export a crisp PNG at the exact size you need — rendered by your own browser engine, so gradients, fonts and transparency come out exactly as designed. No signup required.
SVG is a vector format — great for icons and logos because it scales to any size without losing quality. But plenty of places still only accept raster images: email signatures, social media uploads, Word documents, older CMS platforms, or design tools that don't parse SVG at all. Converting to PNG gives you a fixed-pixel image with full alpha transparency that works everywhere, while keeping full control over the exact resolution you export.
If you're building app icons or favicons from an SVG source, this pairs well with our Favicon Generator and App Icons Generator — export a high-resolution PNG here first, then feed it into either tool.
Drop an .svg file, browse for one, or paste raw SVG markup directly into the input pane.
Your markup is checked for scripts and unsafe references before rendering — nothing is stored, and the file never touches disk.
We read the SVG’s viewBox and intrinsic size and fix any missing dimensions, so the aspect ratio is always right — no stretching or letterboxing.
The actual rasterization happens in your browser’s own SVG engine, on a canvas — the same engine that renders the SVG perfectly on any webpage.
Choose a preset or custom pixel size and a transparent, white, black, or custom-color background before exporting.
Grab your PNG the moment it’s ready — full resolution, correct transparency, nothing uploaded or saved.
Server-side libraries like GD or basic ImageMagick builds only support a subset of SVG. Your browser renders CSS, gradients, filters, clip paths and web fonts correctly because it does this on every page you visit.
SVGs without an explicit width/height are notorious for exporting as a squashed or letterboxed 300×150 box in weaker tools. We detect the viewBox and fix missing dimensions before rendering.
Pick a transparent background and you get real alpha-channel PNG transparency — not a checkerboard baked into the image or a solid color forced behind it.
The actual pixel rendering happens on your device. Your file is checked and sanitized in transit, never written to disk, and never shared.
Without any of these, browsers fall back to a default 300×150 canvas. A good converter derives a viewBox from whatever size is available instead of exporting a squashed image.
Because SVG is vector, you should always export at the resolution you actually need — not rely on a fixed default that looks blurry once placed on a high-DPI screen or printed.
Some tools silently composite your icon onto a white or black background. If you need a transparent PNG (for overlays, dark-mode icons, etc.) make sure transparency is explicitly preserved.
SVGs that style elements with a <style> block or reference custom fonts often render as plain black shapes in server-side converters that don’t implement full CSS support.
SVG is XML and technically supports <script> tags. Always convert through a tool that sanitizes the file rather than rendering it in a context where embedded scripts could execute.
